The temptation to update a space is one we have all caved to, some more often than others. There’s nothing wrong with this, a room, like we as people, is created to be ever evolving.
The trick to giving in to the sumptuous indulgence of new look for your space, is planning ahead, and seeing the possibilities.
Playing with neutrals is a great way to do this without turning your home into a war zone, or worse yet, a démodé hodge podge – making you out to be more design trend follower, than artist.
Keeping your wall color neutral doesn’t translate to sterile. Neutral colors on your walls, window treatments or accessories enable you to play with bolder colors, textures and patterns in your larger pieces of furniture, or other choice textiles.
But what exactly are neutrals? Consider this – neutral colors include black, white, gray and other shades in between. They are all understated, all elegant, and all serve as great foundation blocks for any space.
Now tell me… how easy it is to replace the accent pillows and the art piece to change the whole color scheme and the look of the room.

Love it – seeing the LC3 Sofas in white is a nice change. The neutral background makes the art more prominent.
I always like white for my walls. I don’t know why, maybe because white helps to brighten the room and easy to go with any other colors when decorating. But the problem with white is any smudge or stain becomes highly visible. That’s the price to pay for having white walls or light-colored walls, I guess.
