I love this solution of the Muro Media Storage. It delivers the look and function of a wall-mounted flat panel TV, but without the hassle of hardwiring. Made from unfinished MDF, Muro is ready for paint or wallpaper. Paint this do-it-yourself version the same color as your wall for the ultimate streamlined look, or make it stand out with a different color or wallpaper.

Pete Oyler, a recent graduate of the rhode island school of design, is the father of the ‘stretch shelf’. The shelves are made of cast rubber and machined aluminum and are, essentially, giant rubberbands that function as wall shelves. [via]

Let’s face it, in this current economic crush, while luxury remains a thing to be pined for, versatility is the thing that’s got us all ga-ga – especially when it comes décor. Now that summer’s here with a lovely vengeance, we all want to be out of doors. It’s probably come to your attention that your garden seems a little under the weather. After a long winter even the best designed outdoor furnishings and art can seem sun bleached and dingy. May we present a helpful alternative? D. Garden Collection! With furniture and décor for indoors and the garden, they’ve got the versatility we admire, combined with the artistic edge we adore. Their collection includes graphic printed waterproof cushions, massive playful stickers perfect for spicing things up, and banners which are ideal for giving that wall of ivy a splash of color!

This modern coffee table or modern bench by designer Cameron Van Dyke combines a solid mahogany top and carefully crafted steel legs with a curious pattern of various sized holes. The resulting play of light on the floor becomes as interesting as the piece itself. [via]

When it comes to wallpapering and design related to it, I love anything easy and in good taste. WallBands by Shop Twenty2, as a result, hold a warm and mushy spot in my heart. Fifteen feets of a pattern of your choice from their collection – running the gamut from old school to art deco to funky modernism – are prepped and pre-pasted for you to hang as you will in your home! Use them traditionally on your walls, or perhaps as staircase runnings, as door decorations even, get creative and don’t worry – because just as easily as you managed to put them up, you can take them back down without fuss or muss or sore arms. Beautiful? Beautiful!

The Punch collection was designed by Alexander Taylor for Established & Sons. Taylor has drawn inspiration from audio speakers. The repetitive patterns of spots and indentations with a strong frame – Wow they look good.

There’s something about Secto Lighting I can’t put my finger on. Separately, all the elements are things – that while lovely – I have see countless times before: Neutral tones, muted design, excellent craftsmanship. But as a whole, Secto excels where others have merely succeeded. With subtle curves that seem to mimic a woman’s neck, and the use of slats to unify the collection, once you see their offerings, it’s fairly difficult to imagine going back to any other lighting vendor. Secto is good enough to just make everyone else seem, well, boring. On their website, their floor lamps really won me over. Photographed as a set of three to demonstrate the different colors in which the lamp is available, they resembled a group of demure woman chatting on the street rather than simple implements used to light a room – something they do just as wonderfully.
