Italian designer Felice Rossi’s work is well known within the industry and among amateur designs with a penchant for the futuristic and dramatic. If you are unfamiliar with the work, I suggest beginning with the sampling of their products currently listed on their website. Their armchairs are a study in Italian decadence and post modern angular sensibility. Take for example their decompression chair. Even the name sounds like something technical rather than a warm spot to curl up and read in. And yet, as with all Felice Rossi products, it manages to be both simultaneously. This low-sitting chair fitted on a metal banded frame is like nothing you’ve seen, with it’s strange deep pockets and pick-your-own slipcover option. This is just one of many options Felice Rossi has to offer, but it’s a killer item to give you a better sense of what they are all about.

Design House Stockholm’s new Family Chairs collection by Lina Nordqvist is pleased to be the recipient of the Accent on Design Award for “Excellence in Product Design”. The chairs debuted at the New York International Gift Fair, taking place August 16th through August 20th, 2009.
Family Chairs is a foursome of traditional Swedish stickback chairs. Separately they present themselves as individual unique chairs aspiring to be something more than just pieces of furniture. Together they form a boisterous family, with each one displaying a distinctive character. Even the horizontal spindles between the chair legs play an integral part in the design’s individuality.

Stunning and clever designers, Modo Luce, have struck it big with their outdoor collection. Sometimes when it gets so hot, the last thing a person wants to do is think about picking out fabrics or carpets. That’s what makes the outdoor collection so fabulous – it’s fresh, stylish – and refreshing to boot! Looking for something cool? Start with their Atollo Happy Hour piece. These cozy illuminated small bar stations even look like ice cubes – and with such a killer place to display your ice cold drinks, summer will fly by. Follow it up with Atollo Outdoors, the same concept but in a rosier hue and closer to the ground, for a more casual feel. With so much cool stuff on display you are sure to find a fix for the dog days of summer.
