Como Dream Minimalist Loft

As if Como, Italy wasn’t enough of a dream place, JM Architecture has created a dream within a dream. When a monastery was being remodeled and converted into a residential complex, two adjacent units were connected to for complete the duplex apartment, which ended up enhancing the pitched ceilings and different heights. There are several distinct characteristics of the “dream loft”; Canadian maple hardwood floors, kitchen cabinets hidden discreetly behind a wall that slide down with a motorized system, a video projector projecting images on the kitchen wall, as well as custom designed appliances, and beyond. The pure white and open spaces make this small loft look spacious and sleek. Dream condo? Well, let me mention that George Clooney owns a home in Como also, so…..dream condo it is.

Lamellux

Lamellux created an elegant blend in which resin runs down between stripes of wood, so that it combines the majesty of wood with the transparency of resin. This combination gives a unique look and appeals to the lover of all things modern. This composition of wood and resin allows a variety of colors, shapes and lighting effects. You can use it on furniture, backsplashs, countertops or as wall paneling. [via]

The Distrito Capital Hotel Mexico

The Distrito Capital is a modern treasure in the heart of bustling Mexico City. The hotel name translates directly to “The Capital District” aptly named in the neighborhood of Santa Fe amongst shopping, dining and skyscrapers. Parisian designer Joseph Dirand artfully crafts a “Sin City”-esque, minimalism meets Frank Miller comics aesthtic, with a black and white background, shades of gray and splashes of vivid oranges and reds. Distrito Capital Mexico is the vision of a modern old Hollywood. With only 30 rooms, this boutique hotel boasts artful designs in each suite and social space. Upstairs, Enrique Olvera’s fifth-storey restaurant and bar is set to become one of Mexico City’s gastronomic hotspots, with dazzling panoramic views over the capital below. Amenities include a lounge-friendly pool area, several terraces, a film projection room, library, business centre, conference centre, solarium and gym.
