When I first saw the Element vases at the Design Junction, I thought it would serve as a fabulous water carafe for a special dining event. Even better, to gift it to someone that you know will appreciate this remarkable design (I know that I do). It’s beautiful, but more than that, it is special…
A concerning byproduct of our culture today, is the loss of skilled artisans and craftsman. This loss is largely due to the substantial increase in mass production and the constant pressure to keep costs at a minimum. With the Limited Edition Element Vase Range, Vitamin is challenging this concept by combining both the traditional and modern creation processes into one contemporary piece.
The line of Element Vases is available in three base variations. Then the owner, building upon this base, can create their own shape and style around it by using a large selection of rings made in varying shapes and from diverse materials. This sales concept allows the owner to more fully participate in the design process. Then Vitamin takes this a step further. To ensure that each product is truly a limited edition, they only allow each configuration to be sold a maximum of 10 times. Just a few of the materials that are currently available are rose gold, amber gold, silver, polished steel, cork, granite, marble…and the list goes on.
Vitamin is certainly establishing themselves as a company “less ordinary” by pushing the design envelope into new territories and opening new doors for their consumers.
