Erin McIntosh completed Painting and Drawing degree in the University of Georgia, Athens. She is a recipient of the Whitehead Graduate Scholarship in Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia, Athens. The list could go on and on with this great modern artist.
I can’t say on your behalf but if I can – I’d definitely want to make mountains out of molehills with her modern art. The moment I set my eyes on her contemporary art my head went blank but my emotions got the better of me. Yes, her paintings had my heart beating like never before.
This contemporary artist intrigued me with her fluid and abstract paintings. I feel it is almost poetic – like compositions not made from words but of ascribing human features to something, ambiguous in fact especially those shapes. It looks like floating awkwardly though you could notice the layered spaces. Her modern painting took on either saturated or muted color scheme – which created mystery behind her works. It seems to me like there has been internal conflict as this contemporary painter created pieces of artwork that can be described as mysterious, lyrical, gentle and playful.
Erin has a predilection in mixed media art especially the water-based ones like ink, acrylic, gouache and watercolor. This allowed her to work intuitively and quickly – almost racing against time. Her art work took on a various range of genre in as much as her imagination goes from architecture and botanicals to fashion and music as well as everything in between.
