This installment brings us back to etsy.com, the home for new and talented fine artists on the rise.
What caught our eye this time? The mixed media collection by Rosemary Pierce-Lackey. How could we help but fall for this truly striking 3D collection? Comprised of 15 art boxes, in individual colors and hues, it is picture perfect for any designer. How you arrange and present the pieces is up to you, creating in a sense a veritable collaboration – it doesn’t get more chic than that.
More fascinating still is Pierce-Lackey’s process. Rhapsody is made by, in part, discovering new uses for older books. In the case of the boxes available for view at Etsy.com, the books are from the 1950s. Pierce-Lackey, using paint and her own stunning laquer to finish creates a highly stylized, brilliantly shiny collection impossible to fully appreciate until you get up close and personal. The website has several views worth peeking, they will definitely give you a clue as to the brilliance of the work at hand.
