Under The Spotlight: Maria Cabo

Maria Cabo is a native Colombian artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She received a BFA from the National University of Colombia (2004), continuing education courses in Arta School in Israel (2001) and an AAS in Textile and Surface Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC (2008). Both of Maria’s designs and paintings present a bold and colorful energy. The current focus of her work combines the world of portrait painting with photography, and the use of color to seductively emphasize the relationship between the two forms. Maria’s work has been featured in various collective exhibitions both in New York and Bogotá.
