Whether you are living high in Seattle condos or enjoying living near numerous national monuments in Washington DC condos, space is probably an issue. Living in an apartment or condo comes with some challenging space issues, especially if you are living in larger metro areas where square footage comes at a high price. However, there are a few ways that you can maximize your space in clever ways so that you can get the most out of the square footage you have. A few great ideas include:
Stow Away Book Shelves
While a stow away bookshelf may not work for your apartment, it is definitely an option for anyone who has a living space with stairs – such as a two-story condo or town home. A stow away bookshelf is built under your stairs, and to maximize the space can be pulled out like filing cabinets.
Pull Out Spice/ Can Rack
The pull out rack is actually a way for you store all your cans and spices without taking up precious pantry or cabinet space. The rack simply slides next to you fridge, generally in between the fridge and a wall, and can be pulled out when you need certain ideas for cooking and then tucked away where no one can see it when you are finished.
Loft Shelving
If you have high ceilings, loft shelving can provide a great way for you to maximize your space in an interesting way. Not only will you be able to store all of your books in a stylish way, but you will be also able to utilize neat features such as a sliding ladder which could add further interest to your home.
Living in the city does provide a few challenges, but for many those challenges are worth living in the thick of it. Just because you have a smaller space to work with doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy highly functional and chic design. It simply means that you have to design with more intelligence and sophistication to give your space high design.
