A bedroom is a peaceful retreat from the chaos that comes from living where you can unwind and relax after a long day’s work. This is all the more reason that bedroom storage is an important aspect in keeping the serenity intact within the bedroom.
There are five expert bedroom storage tips which will keep your private space stylish and clean no matter how big or small it is including –
Under-the-bed approach
Did you know that the king-size bed occupies 42 square feet area? Don’t waste the space under your bed by keeping under-bed containers full of clothes you’re not wearing yet during a specific season. Sift through your clothing and categorize them in such a way that you make room for the clothes you are actually wearing. Categorizing them by season is also a great way to save space. Divan storage beds can be great for this approach.
Get the most out of your closet
The closet is built for your convenience not a problem you need to face every day. The way to get the most out of your closet is to plan beforehand what you want to keep there. Before you stuff things inside the closet, make sure you have enough room and are maximizing the space you have. To know where to install rods, you can do this by estimating how much space the bulky dresses and suits will take.
Always place things that you need to access on a daily basis towards the front side of the closet rather than stuffing everything in and pulling everything out when you need it. If you categorize your clothes and accessories into a “daily” and “occasionally” things, you double the amount of things you can stuff
inside your closet.
Placing the shoes on a different drawer or cubicles would be a perfect way for you to save room within your closet.
The kid-friendly approach
Stashing the bed is an approach that doubles the nursery space during daytime. It is also the best way to make bedroom storage fun, attractive and convenient for the kids. It is easier for kids to access things when they are on shelves and baskets rather than place them in hangers. This is also a set up that will help them develop their organizational skills since they will likely place their things back into their specific location.
Vertical storage
If there is a limited square footage, it is compensated with the vertical space. This means to say that it would be easier to go for vertical bedroom storage rather than place them on a horizontal space. Installing deep shelves above would be a great way to get rid of things you don’t need so often like boxes of season clothes and luggage.
In order to make more space within the bedroom especially around the bed, you can replace the bedside table with cabinets that will hold lamps, books and glasses.
Easy storage access
Creating a new storage access allows you to conveniently tap hidden storage when you need it especially when the relationship is between the bedroom and the storage area. For example, you have difficulty accessing your attic which you used for storage purposes. The easiest way to access it would be to create another door from one of the bedrooms into the attic.
Another idea would be to create easy access on the laundry room from the bedroom so that you can easily place dirty clothes on their bins instead of stashing them within your room.

Great ideas. I also like to use decorative storage boxes if I’m ever short of storage in a particular room. You can work with them to make them part of the décor but they’re functional too. I also like using unusual elements for storage that also add to the design and chic of the bedroom. Ideas include installing some architectural molding above a mirror and storing attractive high heeled shoes on it (hanging by their heel) or upcycling an old stainless steel wine rack by hanging it on the wall and using it to store folded jeans. Just some more ideas!

These are some great tips! BTW I love the bed in the picture; any idea where I can find something like that for my bedroom?
