Last summer my boyfriend and I “remodeled” the home that we’re living in…and if that isn’t a bonding experience for you, then I’m not sure what is- having children is probably the next biggest thing? The remodeling experience brought us a lot closer together, it tested us and strengthened us and it also taught us a little bit about each other’s TASTE. When you’re living somewhere temporary you aren’t as worried about design taste and when you live separately from someone you love, you figure once you move in, your tastes will just become one…..unfortunately, it isn’t that easy. Turns out, my boyfriend and I have completely different tastes when it comes to design and one of the first big decisions was; PAINT COLOR. Oy voy- You like blue, he hates blue- he likes off-white, you like color….so many compromises, so many decisions to make.
We went with shades of blue in our living room, purple and green in the bedroom- and we still argue about that purple. So, you’re trying to decide on a color for you home? Well, Hudson Paint has just come out with not only some incredible colors….but these colors also double as chalkboard paint! You’ve probably seen the photos of the black chalkboard walls, often in kitchens, or offices where you can write notes like what’s for dinner- or your week’s to-do list. What if you don’t want a black wall in your home?! Say you have a smaller space and you don’t want to enclose it even more with dark colors….well, Hudson Paint has considered that for you and now you can have all the convenience of the chalkboard wall while also picking a fun, bold color! Whether you’re looking for a children’s bedroom and want to pick a fun “genius pink” or, you want it in a more communal space- since adults like to write on walls too- these chalkboard paint colors have a broad range for all different design tastes! If you’ve got a little one that likes to scribble daisies on the wall instead of paper, you’ve pretty much got your problems solved with chalkboard paint. As for adults, and for myself personally- now that I’m happily living with the one I live, we’re still adjusting to who’s going to do the dishes, or vacuum the living room….hm, maybe this chalkboard paint would be handy for leaving little “reminders” about that??? And messages that say, “I LOVE YOU” of course! For your next paint decision…this may be a good choice! [Via MyDesignPick]
