There are lots of tricks of the trade that can be employed to great effect when it comes to decorating your foyer. For example, this is a place to effectively play with bold lighting choices! Here lighting tends to be more for show, so why not whip out that nutty chandelier you’ve always wanted to employ! In addition to lighting, you could try playing with colors shades. A warmer tone will warm right up your space, and since a foyer is the entrance way to your warm that’s certainly a winning way to go. If you feel your foyer is too narrow perhaps use a mirror and play up the old trick of enlarging a smaller space. It’s also a great space to use to display your hobbies! Do you collect art? Are you a fern fan? Breathe life into your foyer with these personal touches.
Which leads me to my main point. When it comes to designing your foyer, do not be afraid to bring in the stronger elements of your personality. While this particular space is different than the rest of your house – its function being exclusively to welcome guests – it’s also got it’s perks: this is your chance to welcome people home, and to depict to them what home means to you? Is it a warm soothing feeling? Is it cool, modern, sleek? Is it a burst of color? Candles? Maybe a strong piece of artwork that best sums up your design aesthetic? These are all ideas worth contemplating.
A foyer or entryway is very often a designer’s calling card, their signature – so be it neutral shades you choose, or boldly colored vertical stripes, be sure to use this opportunity, and the designs featured here, to give your entryway your all.
Arredokit Designs out of Italy is a great place to start if you’re looking for that inspiration hit to get your new foyer project up and running. All of their design offerings pictured are inspired by Italy’s fabulous sense of high fashion and super sleek designer. This piece of furniture gives you all the storage basics without the clutter clunky look most of our foyers take on over time. Its high gloss finish swallows up your shoes and handbags and leaves your entry way clear and as shining as the exterior of a purring Porsche. It’s a bold choice, but in the right hands, it can be a flawless one as well.
