We’ve got a few great suggestions when it comes to tackling your latest wall – the first is – this is not a wall. No, we’re not proposing Zen Koans (though they are all well and good). What we propose is a shift in view. Rather than look at a blank or boring wall as a chore, view it as an artist would – as a blank canvas.
Are you thinking you want to play with space by creating patterns? There’s no better way than employing painter’s tape to get this job done. Vertical or horizontal stripes do so much for a wall (oops, I mean ‘blank canvas’) and painter’s tape is a viable, easy, and effective way to Get It Done. Just follow the link provided for all the How-To you can handle!
Stripes aren’t your style? No prob, Bob – let’s get funky with florals – templates, that is. If you’re particularly artistically inclined perhaps you feel comfortable free-styling a flower on your wall, but me, I’ll leave that to the professionals. At makeupthewall.com they’ve got these O’Keefe-like flower templates that are lush, and big and wonderful. They do the hard part, all you have to do is stay in the lines!
If flowers aren’t for you either but the idea of a stenciled image appeals to you, be sure to visit www.stencil-library.com. With their massive collection of images, you can pick and choose to create the look and style that’s all your own.
