This week on our weekly column ‘Blog Love’ we interviewed Bree Hester – founder of Baked Bree a food recipes blog.
1. When did you start blogging and why?
I started my food blog almost 3 years ago as a way to have an online version of my favorite recipes.
2. Tell us a little about your blog and where you are from.
I am from New Jersey, but my husband is in the Coast Guard so we have around quite a bit in the last few years. Right now, we live in the suburbs of DC.
My blog started as a way to keep track of recipes, but it has evolved into a community of people that really want to be better cooks and eat good food. I think of myself as a teacher, and want people to follow along with the step-by-step recipes so they have enough confidence in the kitchen. I really wish that people trusted their instincts more in the kitchen and have fun creating meals.
3. If your house were on fire, what would you grab first?
After my husband and kids of course, my camera. It is an extension of myself and and has helped me through both the good and the bad. I can chronicle large portions of my life because I almost always have my camera on me.
4. In your fridge we’ll always find?
Diet Coke, Parmesan cheese, flat leaf parsley, and lemons.
5. Describe your dream meal.
I have been lucky enough to eat some fabulous meals in my life. The ones that stand out the most are the ones that included good company and lively conversation. A really good dessert is always a part of that equation.
6. What are you wishing for the new year?
My wish for the new year is going to sound cliche, but I really want to have a simpler life with more time with my husband and children. I want to slow down, simplify, and take it one day at a time.
