Contemporary Dream Home in Northcote, Australia

Located in a coveted pocket of Northcote, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, this four bedroom two and a half bathroom contemporary home was just recently sold. The modern dream home is on a tree-lined cul-de-sac and includes a private entry to the Rubie Thompson Reserve. The contemporary single family residence was designed by the award-winning architect Robert Simeoni of Robert Simeoni Pty Ltd Architects. Its exterior appears as a bold geometric shape and contrasts a wood and glass clad exterior with concrete components.

The home has a modern and relaxed open plan living space on its ground level. Floor to ceiling windows create an abundance of natural light and a strong connection to the outdoors. The decor is a lovely combination of a natural palette and textured finishes with pops of bright colors to catch your eye. There is a continuous flow of white walls and natural colored wood flooring throughout the home. In the sitting room is a grand black contemporary fireplace that adds warmth and an air of luxury. There is also a private study on the first level. The second floor contains three bedrooms and the master suite. The is an additional study area that overlooks the exterior courtyard and first floor living area.

From every interior angle there are views to the lush greenery that surround the home. The private patio space extends the living space into the outdoors. This beautiful design complimented by it location gives you that sense that you are in a private little oasis. This would be such a great home for a family with younger children. There is a wonderful park nearby and the home itself is conducive to an easy flow of life with young children.

It is such a beautiful creation. I like the living room most; it has a modern yet romantic-ish setting. The all-direction views of greenery should be very helpful for maintaining healthy eyes and mind. But I think that the flooring should have been better with darker wood.

    Thanks for sharing this!
