At a glance, the Beauvoir Residence looks like an incomplete infrastructure. The exterior looks like a box of some sort but at the same time it evokes lightness and transparency considering that the design concept made use of so much glazing as its wall. Personally, I like its simplicity combined with modernity rolled into one.
The focal point of design is the wooden steps against metal gave the modernity a classic touch. This gave the entire place a work of art – demonstrating the imaginative approach to the project.
I find the seamless connection between living spaces from living to dining room up until the great kitchen. This is a comfortable dream home that anyone would love to come home to and it certainly is mine. Just one look at the front elevation triggered the imaginative side of mind – creating ending for the incomplete story told by the modern architecture. It gave the modern home a double volume terrace that overlooks the hill slope view.
The house floor plans implemented on site is simple and minimalistic and it is complemented by the straightforward choice of furniture and furnishings. The lime kitchen cabinet gave highlight to the modern house. The glass windows gave natural light access to provide spotlight on the cabinet making it a striking feature and a dominating fixture for the dream house.
The interior design of the house also has a minimalistic characteristic. It allowed the interiors to follow a natural concept yet the use of steel and glass created an entirely different atmosphere. Personally, the bathroom design is simple yet striking and very attractive. While I cannot say that it is the best design, I could say that the design is really smart considering that it is straightforward.
The entire design is inspirational and the layout itself is really thought challenging. Overall, I love the approach that Bruce Bolander Architect used for this particular project.
