Dream Home: Bright Residence in Ibiza by James Serra

Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to have a dream home as if the sun is its spotlight? It is and I introduce to you the Bright Residence in Ibiza which was designed by James Serra. As its name implies, the modern home is sun-filled following a contemporary approach and simplistic design. Apparently, there are three volumes created in this modern architecture. There is the center volume which houses the lounge area and I believe this is the focal point of design as everything else surrounding it were constructed and structured from this volume.

The house floor plans were implemented to accommodate the 25 meters by 3.5 meters swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery.

The lower level has a covered outdoor living space where I find comfortable outdoor furniture where you can relax reading books and magazines – anything you like. There is also stairs that go directly to the pool, which is spacious and airy provided with benches and cushions. Indeed, it is a place to unwind. The entire house is a great living space where families and friends as well as guests could share relaxing moments together.

The interiors of the home are superb – clean, simple and the soft edges made the space even brighter to live. I find the stairs that created the sense of connection between the levels. The dining space is just enough and proportionate to the entire living space. It has a simple interior design considering the modest design on the dining table with matching chairs that can accommodate six persons.

The smart choice of fixtures like the red chandelier made in Murano glass has created yet another pop color to the room and adds a sense of style and sophistication without deviating from the existing theme of “casual.” There is also a smooth transition between the great kitchen and the dining room created by the serving batch with iron table. The kitchen as you can see evokes an industrial feeling to it as it is filled with stainless steel appliances complemented by the furniture.

Going further to the private spaces, the master bedroom has an inviting aura and the design is simple yet comfortable and full of warmth. The wood cabinet and a sequence of bulb-shaped lamps hanging at different levels created various levels of brightness. Also, the bathroom design on the bedroom features the marble elements and fixtures that created a minimalist design.

Overall, the entire house is simply elegant and with its airy, bright, inspirational and contemporary layout I could just live here for the rest of my life.
