Juliana & Tristan created a masterpiece in Singapore – the Brookvale Park Residence, which is located on the corner far from the main road and is surrounded by the lush greenery of the environment. This dream home is a private walk up apartment designed with warmth and comfort in mind so that the owners can take refuge and retire to at the end of a long day.
However, this sophisticated and elegant modern home has been built by virtue of practicality with regards to its economy of scale without compromising on the spatial relationships and fractions as well as its distances. This is necessary to make sure that the residents keep their lifestyles without any worries of keeping up with urbanity.
The modern architecture is at its best as individualized spaces share the generous span of balcony while the interiors maintain high levels of privacy despite the commodity of the exterior space. In Brookvale, there are countless different yet similar apartment designs and layout yet this top story corner apartment can capture attention at a glance. Its layout is uniquely beautiful including the slanted roof covered by false ceiling and even the way that the diffused sunlight brings illumination on the interior.
The original building was redesigned and the modern architects implemented their own house floor plans without radically changing the origins of the apartment. The original ceiling was removed completely and this revealed an aging beauty of the concealed and darkened solid timber rafters. The rafters were sanded, restored and given due credit to serve as the anchor of the apartment – truly a unique focal point of design.
The lush greenery seen through the newly installed plain steel framed glass windows becomes the backdrop from which the interior design complements to – this gave the necessary cross ventilation for the home.
Upon entering the living room, the attention grabber is the cool grey stones and meeting the eyesight with the built-in book case. The smart choice of the furniture including the long bench adorned the living room, which functions as the main settee yet it has been integrated with a series of steps leading to the upper level of the apartment. This becomes a smooth transition between the two levels from the stone floor to the timber boards.
The great kitchen functions as the new backdrop for the public domain. In addition, the stunning opened bathroom design is the other end in the flow within the master suite. Overall, the hierarchy of space within this place of residence is inspirational in many ways.
