This modern architectural home designed by Robert M. Gurney is located on a grassy knoll at the end of a winding road through a pine tree forest in central Virginia’s Lake Anna. The exterior comprises white brick and copper cladding.

The large, modern architectural portion of the home is clad in copper, covered with a slanted roof and is punctured with many large windows. These windows showcase western views toward the lake, general views of the immediate landscape, and a large flow of light and solar heat through the eastern glass expanses into the home.

The interior design and space planning throughout the home is contemporary and at a minimum. The architects designed the interior in a linear, ordered fashion that juxtaposes solid and transparent elements. The linearity of the home’s exterior and interior creates residential order amid the lush, organic landscape of the forest and nearby lake, making this property a great place of serenity.
