The Paron, Arkansas based Carlton Residence is a masterpiece on seven acres. Built budding out of the trees and overlooking the lush valley below, the neutral stucco home features a stone and dark bronze metal roof with a rounded exterior palette and clean, precise lines.
From the outside the home exudes a careful kind of durable reliability that’s combined with softness. Stones from the home’s exterior are brought in to line the edges of the interior, providing a sense of unity between the outdoors and inside.
As a whole, the Carlton home is modern. It’s designed for a growing family with two young boys, and features like the baby gate meant to match the streamlined interior can be removed when the toddlers grow older. The boys rooms were an opportunity to pack punch, and each space was designed to provide similar benefits while conveying their own sense of personality. One boy’ room is a cerulean blue and the other gets a bright lime green.
The public areas of the Carlton Residence are open and flooded with light. Glass facades let light pour in from the dining room to the den so that the residents feel like they are part of the outdoors, and a natural gray paint set against blue, brown and green accent colors compliment the rolling hills and sky that surround the home.
