Dream Home: Casa Cardenas by Parque Humano

If there is one thing that I could say about this dream home that has been designed by Parque Humano, it is – fantastic! Have you ever thought of living in a modern home that’s surrounded by mountains and that the design actually resembles underground caves?

The Casa Cardenas embodies what I just described. The modern architecture is located specifically in Mexican Valle de Bravo and it is provided with a panoramic view of the mountains interiorly. The modern architects also allowed communication between the interiors and exteriors through the floor to ceiling glass elements within the entire house.

The interior design is – I must say – simply stunning and comforting to say the least. The combination of wood and modern elements allowed the architecture to stand out like uniting a vacation home with traditional place of residence. I particularly like the seamless flow of space from the dining space to the living room. The living room has been created solely to invite the environment inside through the sliding picture windows.

The house floor plans implemented in this project were to accommodate what nature has to offer. It is like creating a natural painting through the windows and taking it as part of the interior design. The house takes on a trapezoid shape to further increase the relationship of the environment and the insides of the home because this extends the expansive views thus taking full advantage of natural views.

The intimate and private spaces are concentrated on the upper floor as the home has been divided into two levels but the upper level is further divided into two areas where the small studio has been isolated. Nonetheless, it maintained its communication with the principal space, which is the rest of the house, through the bridge. Thus, it looks like an excellently fitted addition at the rear end of the structure.

Finally, I find the layout of the home really inspirational because it houses the living spaces without sacrificing comfort and warmth. The garage for example and the service spaces were all part of the design scheme without ruining its primary purpose. The stone stairs are particularly attractive, which is parallel to the swimming pool and the garden. This will lead you to the raised property and this is what I found really interesting about this project. While it is undeniably modern, the place of residence is utterly comforting and relaxing.
