Such an amazing project by architect Mathias Romm. A church located in Cologne was converted into a family home with 410 square meters of living space. The five-meter tall ship of the church from the 1960s turned into a residence hall. The floor to ceiling glass facade was preserved and the concrete supports of the sacral area were integrated into the house. The sanctuary was preserved in its impressive size: height, frame structure and the simple ceiling lights were not changed. The kitchen area with stone gray lacquered doors harmonizes with the concrete beams and plastered and painted ceilings and walls.

Love the lighting fixtures, they look like meteors falling from the sky. I never would have guessed this is previously a church. What a lovely modern home!
