I want to be honest – I am not a fan of overly modern home but this time I am going to make an exception with Feldbalz House. This is a dream home coming true and it has the right amount of modernity in it that I can’t help but appreciate the concept created and implemented by Gus Wustemann. This is an unusual modern architecture, which can be distinguished among the rest. It is the reason why I said I will make an exception on this one.
The house floor plans implemented were the direct result of a concept that the family home should be designed according to lifestyle depending on the needs of the children and the parents. There are three different floors developed into spaces that are divided into three varying zones. The ground level is designed with the children in mind which opens toward the garden and patio projecting over the swimming pool.
The second zone is the family living space while the third zone houses the necessary rooms and spaces for the parents while ensuring privacy and exclusivity. The interior design is simple and straightforward with much attention to the functionality of space rather than focusing solely on the design. The interiors are uncluttered and designed specifically to meet the functional requirements of the family.
I love the simplicity of the bathroom design. It is direct and functional, which I find complementing the family needs considering there are children to attend to. I think that if a family has little kids running around – everything has to be simple and direct so the kids can be taught independence. That’s just in my humble opinion, which is why I have come to love this design by Gus Wustemann.
I would also like to point that the modern architecture stands on a 276-square meter lot with expansive views of Lake Zurich. So, I think anyone would agree that this is the dream home they have been looking for. This modern family house has an exposed translucent front entrance that opens itself up to the beautiful views. The designer took full advantage of the surrounding landscape so despite its modernity the environment still becomes a huge part of the house’s design.
I find the layout of the home utterly inspirational and if all other modern homes demonstrate this kind of modernity – I might as well be a fan of contemporary designs.

I find these “modern” homes much less of a home. The open aired structure just does not bring the term homey to mind. Its a very pretty house but not for me, Oh Well.
