This is the kind of dream home that I can only imagine to be carved out directly from a magazine. I did not expect for this to be real and this is what I love about the entire modern home. “House The” is located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The modern architecture underwent extensive remodeling and renovation through the hard work and expertise of Nico van der Meulen Architects.
Saying ‘I’m amazed’ is more like an understatement. It is more than just amazing – in fact it is breathtaking and jaw dropping. Exteriorly, I find the suspended deck bisected by massive steel wall and supported by the semi-circular beam very impressive and excellently implemented in terms of design and concept. And I would hold my breath even more just looking at the large patio with infinity pool that sweetens the entire deal. I would say that it is the focal point of design where everything else revolves around it.
The house floor plans followed exemplary precision and I think the modern architects had to do perfect execution of the design to achieve the kind of look it has today.
As for the interior design, I would say that it’s superb! It is clean and not messy with some streaks of attractive color here and there. So, just on the other side of steel wall – you will find the glass front door and koi pond that created a strong impression and impact on the entirety of the design. I wouldn’t trade this view for anything else especially the feeling of walking across the glass stepping stones – delicately and gently like walking on cloud – just to reach the front door.
The main living area consisting of the living room, great kitchen and dining area are housed within double-height space that opens entirely to the outdoors thus heightening the relationship between the two. The entire space is incorporated with pops of green in order to complement the lush greenery outdoors.
I would definitely love to take a relaxing bath on its exemplary bathroom design. It is one of the things that I love about this place. It is modern yet its subtle traditional touch created the warm and inviting atmosphere.
