The Steurer House by Architect Paul Steurer is a classic example of a dream home. But, there is nothing classic at how the modern home was designed in a way that it will both be a functional living space and a home of style. The project started in the year 2007 and was completed by 2008. It is located at Vorarlberg, Austria and has a total living space of 175 square meters.
The modern architecture is made of aluminum and concrete which is actually does not coincide with the local building traditions that can be found in Vorarlberg. They looked different nonetheless the structure fitted beautifully into the mountains as if it was carved out as a modern structure from it. The amazing house snugly fits into the peaceful surroundings. It sits on a slightly hilly green meadow and it almost demonstrates oneness to the natural settings.
Upon checking the interior design, it has the panoramic windows in the dining area making the space invite more natural light while maximizing the views. The views were captured well through the windows taking the breathtaking outdoors to the interiors in the living room as well as in the dining room while the views on the north were captured well within the great kitchen and colored green.
The living and dining areas are separated by a concrete core of the staircase. The bathroom design is great and is located next to the master bedroom upstairs at the northwest corner of the house. Through the bathroom, the views that can be seen include the hill and beyond to the forest. The views give a dose of tranquility to the place making it an ideal private space.
Its layout is truly inspirational even though it is simple yet it also has elegant lines that impeccably integrate the architecture into its natural environment. The building is anchored firmly to the ground though half the ground floor is situated on a slope. The rust colored aluminum panels within demonstrates good reinterpretation of the classic hillside house. Yet, it also demonstrates elegant modernity that is not usual to homes integrated to the natural environment.
Indeed, Paul Steurer pulled off a great project that entices anyone to check every corner of the house if given the chance. The pacifying and relaxing aura it gives can provide tranquility to the residents of the house. It is definitely a home that everyone will come to love and find serenity at.
