According to the designer – William Duff Architects – the design concept was to combine high-end contemporary design with sustainable design. This is a commitment that was followed throughout the entire project. The modern home took full advantage of the existing foundation, which gives rise to the dramatic living space flowing into the entire landscape.
The materials utilized for this project includes the stained concrete mixed with fly-ash, Fin-Ply panels and COR-TEN steel. Radiant floors, photovoltaic power, passive ventilation and solar hot water have been integrated into the project, which significantly reduced energy consumption.
