When the small, but incredibly talented architecture firm Formwerkz was commissioned to design a home in Seleter Close, Singapore for twelve people, of whom spanned three generations, the firm was presented with the problem of designing a cohesive residence with engaging rooms for both private and public habitation. Nonetheless, Formwerks rose to the challenge, creating two modern architectural structures connected by a sky bridge to form what is known as the Apartment House.
Through various meetings with each of the would-be residents to assess their unique needs, the firm was able to conceptualize this stunning structure that is also functional for the families.
At the base of the home is a sizable pool, as all members expressed a desire to swim. In addition to acting as a point of engagement, the pool also helps to physically join the two structures together.
Other private outdoor spaces include separate balconies, terraces and roof gardens accessible from the individual apartments.
