If you’ve ever traveled to Istanbul, you know the incredible architecture, detail and unique design and structures that you’ll see in the city…and sure enough there’s interesting and creative things happening on the outskirts of the city too, like the Buama House by GAD that was renovated for a young couple living in Beykoz, a suburb of Istanbul. As a concept, a new structure is inserted in the existing structure.
The design is seamless, with smooth lines, so there’s no real distinction between the floor, walls, etc. With such focused attention to the modern, endless lines and detail- they also found a way to incorporate the couples love for antique pieces, and a combination of various eclectic styles, which can often be hard to incorporate when you have a modern home like this, but the designers did so incredibly.
My personal favorite feature of the house is bathroom, with curved walls/ceiling, tiled with accents of red light and an artistic touch, with the face of a woman etched into the floor. Oo la la. Around every corner of the house you’ll see a unique detail….I would definitely give this two thumbs up.
