Lara Spencer, host of the CBS celebrity show ‘The Insider’, recently opened her newly remodeled 1960’s Beverly Hills home up to the Los Angeles Times. Prior to renovation, the property was best described as a ‘fixer upper’ and was almost demolished by another interested buyer. Being the champions of mid-century architecture, we just had to feature this.
Having been in the press over a week ago, we have been eager to bring you this home earlier but wanted to allow a sense of fair play for the Los Angeles Times, and its affiliates, to get their benefit from the article as our friends in the traditional media are forever having their hard earned bread stolen from the table. Enough of my trumpeting, let’s take a look at the photos, which are courtesy of the Los Angeles Times and photographer Allen J. Schaben.
Don’t forget to check out the full article, by clicking on the LA Times link above, to get the full background including the revealing ‘before’ shots. We think Lara has done an amazing job with her home and love some of the interior appointments, such as the vintage Sputnik lamp, and items from some of our favorites, such as CB2 and 1stdibs.com. These are combined with many other furniture items that Lara picked up at venues such as flea markets – for those of you that do not know, she has an avid interest in furniture and collectibles – to make an inviting and stylish Modern Dream Home.
