The possibilities are endless when a designer is given the present of space – and even more when they are given lots of it. And so the generosity of space as the ultimate luxury and the seamless interconnection of spaces were the inspiration behind this Brisbane riverfront penthouse designed by RLD.
While the interior design and decoration of the space epitomizes that of contemporary living, the client’s admiration of 1950s simplicity in design style formed the foundation for the project. The design doesn’t skip a beat and is easy on the eyes, but the true purpose was to meet the day to day practicalities of the family, such as abundance of seamlessly incorporated storage. And while doing so, the selected cool color palette alongside the sub-tropical Brisbane climate provided the perfect contrast and warmth within the home.
The Sydney based interior design company received the winning awards for Best of State (QLD) Residential Interior Design Awards and the Residential Design award at IFI (International Federation of Interior Design/Architecture) Design Excellence Awards for the 2009 project.
