This amazing homeis located in Melbourne, Australia, and is designed by Bojan Simic Architecture. From the outside the home has a futuristic look through the massive glass elevation, with the staircase serving to underscore the Orb as the central feature of the home.

Based on a concept of a minimalist aesthetic, inspired by the dwellings of ancient Pompeii, the ‘orb’ is a circular architectural feature in the home that provides contrast against the rectilinear and patchwork architecture of the rest of home.

The home is defined by a large curved wall that divides the two main areas of the home, the living area and the sleeping area. This the Orb House design, Bojan Simic is aspiring towards a future residential prototype of the tried and trusted methodologies of the past, a tranquil introspective living environment based around a central courtyard.
The plot is a unique setting for the Orb House, built upon a steepening gradient that descends rapidly towards the Yarra River, affording the home views of the surrouding countryside.

Inside, the home is minimalist and features exquisitie appointments that compliment the stlyish contemporary architecture. The main living area has comfortable, low-level, modern lounge furniture in dark leathers that provide warmth and texture against the white walls, ceilings and floors.

The kitchen area incorporated the cruved wall into its space, offsetting the long deep curve above with massive countertops in the bar area. The all white cabinetry and white counter tops provide a chic and sophiscated look to the space.

The bathroom has a zen and spa-like quality, with the opaque glazed wall providing a soft and ambient light that is both welcoming and relaxing.

Bojan Simic is renowned for his unqiue home designs, and Orb House certainly maintains his standing as one of the most innovative architectural designers at this time. Unique, with a captivating quality that is striking to the eye, but also has a definite air of calmness and tranquility, the Orb House is definitely a very special Modern Dream Home.
