Originally designed by architect Erik Lallerstedt (1865-1955), Nybrogatan 57 is a newly renovated building by Oscar Properties, , a design and architecture firm in Stockholm. Built in 1936, this structure possessed initial characteristics of Art Nouveau followed by romantic nationalism. Today, functionalism is the root of these Swedish luxury apartment homes. These residences will have hotel-like amenities attached to them including room service, weekly housekeeping and each unit will feature a private wine cellar.
The building’s smooth plastered facade is rather austere in a dark putty hue and displays a simple, oversized “57” numeric. Two basic industrial doors–one solid, one framed in large square windows, are located on the street-level entrance. Once inside, though, the tone changes dramatically, with plentiful daylight streaming in the contemporary spaces of these stunning interiors, while soothing colour palettes play in perfect harmony to the minimalistic furnishings.
Floorplans are flowing and varied, but all are efficient with spacious, shared living rooms and kitchens designed for practicality as well as entertainment. Pale-grey wood flooring is expansive across these contemporary interiors, with kitchens offering focal-points like substantial marble islands and coordinating backsplashes. Clean-lined cabinetry houses state-of-the-art appliances and is a beautiful complement to surrounding similar tones. Windows off the main living areas are abundant and open up to light blue, wood-decked balconies which have all been restored.
Bedrooms are inviting and generous with some floorplans boasting an appealing walk-in closet situated between the sleeping area and bathroom. Each apartment’s baths are well-appointed with polished stainless and stark white fixtures, as well as unique, functional lighting. All feature open showers with a single glass panel partition, while some include a deep soaking tub adjacent to it.
Typical Scandinavian furnishings throughout the model apartment interiors perfectly reflect the contemporary culture of this beautifully redesigned building. Nybrogatan 57 is undoubtedly a sought-after address which is now open for occupancy and will likely sell out as various other Oscar Properties have.
