Ever wondered just what the world’s best apartment must look like? From our point of view, it would have to combine location with a breath-taking view and high-end luxury to bring together the ultimate combination of fine living. Well, one development was awarded just that accolade a couple of months ago and we thought we’d take a further look.
Since opening in 2008, the Portico development in St. James, on the west coast of Barbados, has won numerous awards as Barbados has quickly become the latest vacation home island for the world’s rich and famous. In November, it received the accolade of ‘Best Apartment in the World’.
Everything about Portico is indulgent and luxurious, with just two units on each of the five floors, you get 3500 sq. foot living space as well as either an additional 1500 sq. foot garden terrace or a 1500 sq. foot rooftop terrace if you are lucky enough to have a penthouse. From its asymmetric contemporary architecture, to its 60 foot glass ‘curtain’ wall facing the sea, Portico is all about the pinnacle of modern living.
Developments like this just ooze desirability and we agree that if you are lucky enough to have an apartment in the Portico development you speak confidently when saying you own the best apartment in the world.

It’s a beautiful place, but it seems location, location, location is the biggest winner here. The apartment has some nice features, but nothing that blew me away. The view, on the other hand, …WOW.

my first expression when i saw the pictures is “is that real”.
believe me the apartment is so alluring and the view add a brilliant character to the beauty of apartment
