Design Miami set out to create a design fair unlike any other that came before. In 2005, Ambra Medda and Amy Lau dreamed of a cultural forum that would capture the current passion for design prevalent in society but also encourage that interest, and help people explore the far corners of the design world.
This team has put together a small talented team to create the most vital design shows in the world. Their objective is simple and effective: “To balance highly professional business activity with progressive cultural programming.” With an emphasis on collaboration, they work not just with designers, but design institutions to make sure the convention attractions not just collectors but other enthusiasts to create a design showcase unlike any other where wares are not only appreciated but also bought and sold.
