At first glance, Pebble, a rug designed Ksenia Movafagh for 2form design, appears to be a bed of grayish rocks. On second glance it appears to be….a bed of grayish rocks. In fact, you can look at it as many times as you like and that’s what you’ll see. It was only when I read the description that I could even begin to believe that the piece was 100% wool, and that’s when Movafagh stole my heart. With contemporary and unique pieces like Pebble, ideal rugs for the beach house or study, and then pieces like Momento subverting classical design while maintaining its own elegance, Movafagh’s work has something for everyone – so long as bold artistic pieces are your forte. This ain’t your grandmother’s shag carpet, that’s for sure.
