Design as we know it is changing. Chairs no longer require four legs and tables have become sculptures of innovation. MC2 is part of this revolution. Their industrial designs make jumps in our conception of everyday objects, balancing new ideas with the household items that fill our lives everywhere.
MC2 Design Lab’s founders, Desmond Miller and Jerry Cmehil, started at opposite ends of the earth but met in New York where the company now exists. Together the two specialize in modern, classic, and minimal designs with one of a kind touches.
When the two aren’t taking on commissioned projects for bespoke designs, they create everything from desks and cocktail tables to entertainment centers. MC2’s desk line includes Delta and Noho. The first is a retro styled two solid legged desk with a slightly raised top and thin pencil drawer, and Noho is a beautiful wood piece designed as a solution for smaller spaces.
MC2’s cocktail tables are perhaps the most interesting of the bunch. The duo’s designs are like glass sculptures alive with careful curvatures and lively dimensions. Some of the more sculptural pieces include the semi-transparent icicle looking Ice while Round Miners plays on a more industrial aesthetic.
The team’s entertainment units move a step further in showcasing MC2’s powerful diversity. Some pieces capitalize on curved modular shapes while Konstruct feels as if it’s floating weightlessly over triangular shaped wires. When it comes to innovative and different, MC2 has your home covered.
