The Canapo rocking chair, produced by manufacturing company Cassina, is an innovative seating piece designed by Franco Albini. Albini is an Italian architect, urban planner and designer.
This particular chair design project dates back to 1945, and is continually and faithfully reproduced by Cassina. The Canapo chair exemplifies Franco Albini’s search of balance, which is evident throughout many of his works. The resulting form of the chair is a lightweight furnishing solution, ready for a person to sit down and relax in. The curved line of the rocking component visually connects the various elements of the chair.
The cushioned red fabric is attached with cords that form an architecturally graphic motif along the sides of the chair, making this classic design sleek, chic and timeless.
