Bar Design: E Pra Poncha Bar by Antonio Fernandez

Let me introduce you to the elaborate E Pra Poncha Bar which was designed by Antonio Fernandez. This bar design takes on multiple-colored discotheque inspired by natural cave-like formation. This is a Portuguese nightclub installed with layered lacquered MDF ceilings that was designed specifically to imitate the natural formations of a cave.

I find this bar design really enticing and alluring especially with its constantly changing LED light system. This particular design element resembled the hues of water and fire as it pushes and pulls either way in the entire room. Personally, I like this concept of “fire and ice” and it became the focal point of design, which sets the mood for the entire room. One minute the room is blazing with crimson fire and in another it takes on cold cobalt – resembling an ice.

The bar interiors has undulating quality that is inspired by the existence of stalagmite and stalactite commonly found in underground grottos. The interior design is made up of indents and layers and was not just there to provide the physical value on the place but also to define the different functioning spaces so it becomes not only a stylish bar design but also functional as well.

This underground inspired bar does not require you to do explorations but the mood it sets evoked a sense of adventure and ecstasy.

The bar is located in Porto specifically in Rua de Galeria de Paris – a popular nightlife hotspot.
