We heard about this fabulous hotel through the Daily Icon . We love the combination of the old and new, and hope to visit this hotel in the near future. The Caro Hotel is located in the heart of the city, a bit more than 200 meters from Valencia Cathedral and the Bascila. As if that weren’t perfect enough, it is the first historical monument- hotel in Valencia. It has merged history with innovative interior design.
A project undertaken by interior designer Francesc Rifé, the hotel pays close attention to detail. It is modern and pristine while at the same time displaying original architectonic features of the Palace of the Marquis of Caro, which dates back to the 19th century. More than 2,000 years of history can be found in this hotel, including Roman mosaic, the 13th century Aeabic defensive wall, gothic arches, and 19th century constructions- all preserved, restored, and integrated.
Design with historical background is always so much richer, and when history is combined with contemporary design the effect is truly dazzling.
