The name of Nolitan Hotel is derived from “Nolita” which means “North of Little Italy.” It offers a totally unique experience that will make it a home away from home. It is located on Kenmare St, New York designed by Grzywinski + Pons.
This beautiful hotel design is the very first luxury boutique hotel in Manhattan to open in the New York City neighborhood. It is walking distance to other landmark like Little Italy, Greenwich Village, The Bowery, Chinatown, SoHo and Tribeca. The hotel interiors evoke the kind of lingering feeling as well as make you imagine.
Grzywinski + Pons design hotel Nolitan with a new presence among the old row houses as well as industrial garages. They faced the challenge of working on the tight parameter of the project. It follows the distinct proportion of the existing buildings. The concept was created and conceived taking into account the 100-200 years old environment.
Situated within the 3,850 square foot trapezoidal lot, the modern architects designed several component volumes while wrapping them into an interconnected façade. The façade is made from terracotta rain screen and low-iron channel glass resulting to a beautiful hotel.
The resulting hotel houses 55 rooms with hotel design that has a focal point of connectivity between all components and volumes. The ground floor has the glass front that connects well to the exteriors and environment of the hotel. This component is essential in order to create a welcoming and comfortable public space.
Also, the hotel interiors feature the sophisticated lobby lounge, on-site restaurant and the fascinating rooftop. Both the restaurant and the lobby feature two full walls of windows in order to gain access to natural lighting of the space and allow guests to watch the neighborhood as part of the hotel interior design.
The interaction of shapes and shadows continue from the exteriors to the interiors of the hotel where you will meet an intimate atrium. The European oak floors are illuminated naturally as it showcases its shine. Part of the interior design is the cognac leather banquettes that will create the perfect nook of the lounge library. The oak flooring continues throughout the hotel’s ground floor and the bar is clad with white Carrera marble bar.
Located at the top of The Nolitan Hotel, there sits the landscaped rooftop that will offer guests 2,400 square feet of deck space where you can watch the breathtaking view of downtown, midtown and Brooklyn.
