Modern Restaurant Design : Ame Restaurant by Munge Leung

It seems so timely to write about this cavernous, dimly lit restaurant in Toronto, Canada- that is in accordance with the new Twilight: Eclipse ;) Have you seen it yet? Because you’ll want to go to dimly lit places and imagine you’re a vampire…or maybe that’s just me, but either way- I think I’ll start here, then hope on over to Seattle and spend a weekend- but I digress, Ame restaurant designed by Munge Leung is a modern designed Japanese restaurant that uses natural sustainable materials; wood, stone, marble, etc. and lighting to create a dramatic affect that enhances the atmosphere and experience of a dinner evening, accompanied by the culinary creativity by Guy and Michael Rubino.

Throughout the restaurant you’ll see several unique, personalized elements; from the pops of vintage inspired fabric, material on the cushions, the elaborate floral patterns in the bathrooms, intricate, detailed door handles and dramatic high ceilings that add to the expansiveness of the restaurant. The restaurant has a mood set for the dinner guests before they even order a glass of wine and there’s surprisingly bright details throughout the restaurant that will keep people impressed, in this charming and unique modern space. Not to mention, yes- the food is superb.
