There is nothing more to say about this restaurant design – Code Kurkku, which was designed by Wonderwall. I must say that Wonderwall did it again!
This hospitality design is a project for the huge area and interior design of the restaurant. The beautiful restaurant is located a few minutes away from the JR Yoyogi station. Takeshi Kobayashi, a music producer, led the project team and he invited Shinichi Osawa to collaborate as co-producer of Kurkku.
The design concept of this amazing restaurant is to provide an easy retreat from the modern city life. The entry way is provided for by the glass gate. Despite being located at the heart of Tokyo, you will find yourself in the middle of an extraordinary and awe-inspiring Yoyogi VILLAGE.
I find the vibrant yet comforting garden very appealing. It was developed through the collaboration of the designers with plant hunter and landscape designer Seijun Nishihata. The restaurant encircling the lounge and music bar has closed affinity to design elements as well as surrounding structures. The restaurant interiors were created in such a way that the environment becomes a relaxing haven that will subconsciously trigger the sense of having a city life’s enthusiasm. It created a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life where you can at least relax and unwind.
Personally, it changed my perspective about how restaurants should be. If fine dining is like this, I might find myself overindulging.
