Blacksheep is a UK-based design firm famous for restaurant and hotel interiors. This time, they completed a project with eclectic characteristics – the Nandos restaurant located in Ashford, Kent, England. The hospitality design is a combination of modern and rustic approach, which complements well the identity of the restaurant.
Nandos is a casual dinner chain that offers delicious Portuguese-style chicken and this is the reason why the concept of the space was born. We all know how important it is to create a space that will boost the dining experience of every guest.
By combining two different approaches, the restaurant interiors are created by wood and added with turquoise details. Yellow is added to break the monochromatic palette and make this amazing restaurant look more fun and playful unlike other restaurant that emphasizes sophistication in their design.
The beautiful restaurant is given high ceilings that are painted with black and remained indistinctive in the design process to make way for the wooden structure that comes down from it emphasizing its smart and great visual effect to the place. I can say that the black painted ceilings are good contrast to bring more highlight to other design elements. Its anonymous existence in the design allowed us to divert our attention to little but important design details like the structure mentioned. Also, the tables and chairs are exclusively designed to give more personality to the entire space.
I must say Blacksheep has did it again – adding a greater personality to a restaurant design that would otherwise be lifeless and dull. It may not be easy to achieve a well-balanced rustic and modern characteristics but Blacksheep did this well and I have come to love how they did it with so much organization making the entire space uncluttered.
