How do you combine fun and professionalism in a design? I think no word can better explain this concept than Zumbo Patisserie. This particular store design is a combination of nostalgia and unexpected – hence the authentic design. In this retail design, the designers balanced the colorful and quirky design with professionalism that has created the unique branding for Zumbo Patisserie. The concept has been developed and implemented by Luchetti Krelle.
Rachel Luchetti – head of the design firm – created this design concept that resulted to a whimsical but professional design for a store in Sydney.
The commercial design represents the colorful and quirky professional image of Zumbo. I love the marriage of fun and professionalism in this design. I must say that Luchetti Krelle has nailed this one. In addition to the design, the products being displayed are also colorful such as the macarons. Creativeness and exploration with a little bit of fun throughout is Zumbo’s approach to their products and because of this it is necessary to complement it with a creative store space as well.
Luchetti Krelle has design a store that reflects the client’s vision and creative approach hence the resulting design for retail. They reflected the client’s idea while keeping the space dynamically inspirational. They created a great backdrop to highlight the products.
The wide array of desserts occupied center stage and it made subtle references to the board game ‘Mouse Trap.’ The subtle references created an additional nostalgic impact so the weird and wonderful interaction of design elements was justified.
The beautiful store is indeed creatively designed through the talent and skills of designers and model makers. The components found in this amazing store talks about personality and branding while reflecting the owner’s idea of fun and color. The atmosphere created in this store is all thanks to the experience and expertise of Luchetti Krelle.
As with all interior designs, capturing attention has always been a challenge – Zumbo Patisserie is definitely not an exception to the rule. The only way to conquer this is to rely on expertise and knowledge about the field. And according to Luchetti, it is about drawing inspiration from unexpected areas in order to create space with all design elements in harmony and synchronicity. Without sacrificing quality of design, Luchetti Krelle has pretty much included the owner’s idea of a product and transformed into an aesthetic element.

Nicely done. I do like the use of colors and neon and although I’m not sure if it would work in any other sort of niche, it look like it works well for Zumbo… daring design pulled off very well!
