Now that Maya’s room is in the final stages of completion (at last!), it is time to move on and tackle Liam’s room. When considering the design for this room I wanted to achieve a more mature design for him; to reinforce the feeling of being a big brother, despite his only being a Kindergartener. My vision for the room was a clean and modern asthetic, with mid-century accents.
The room is south-facing and light filled, having two large windows and also sliding glass doors leading out to an upper deck on the home. To make use of the abundant light, I chose to color most of the walls white, with a single accent wall to provide a burst of contrast and color. The paints used were Benjamin Moore “Paddington Blue”, on the accent wall, with the other three walls painted in standard “Decorators White”. The paints were from from our local and very wonderful store Red Start Paint & Decorating in Montclair, NJ.
I am still waiting on some of the pieces before I can show you the finished room. I hope you like it!
