Bertoia Chair by Harry Bertoia Extravaganza

Italian-born sculptor, Harry Bertoia, used industrial wire rods to create this iconic sculptural chair, a version of which is in the Museum’s collection. This indoor and outdoor chair is in use in The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden at MoMA. Versatile, comfortable, and durable, it has a delicate airy appearance. Made of steel with a black matte powder-coated finish.

With this amazing chair, Bertoia created an icon of modern design and introduced a new material, industrial wire mesh to the world of furniture design.
