Sliding Desk embodies a new way of expressing beauty and practicality in the reception area through an innovative modular system developed especially for the Hangar Design Group by Minimal, an Italian company leading the field of bathroom and kitchen furniture manufacturing.
As an alternative to the standard concept of ‘reception’, Sliding Desk is a versatile system by which technical equipment and functional spaces can be easily hidden away under the sliding top, while playing with lacquered, polished and matte surfaces.
The lower part houses large compartments and drawers to file and organize documents and materials; as the top is slid away, it reveals a complete front-desk workspace perfect for placing any type of technological support through the hidden panels granting simple control over every function, from the lighting system and the alarms, internet connection and power plugs.
When necessary, simply slide the top to cover the workspace and use Sliding Desk as a meeting table or tabletop: it is perfectly modular, making it well-suited to the most contemporary workspaces and offices, where the reception remains the most important furniture, not only welcoming guests but also offering information and practicality.

What a great design! I’m a huge fan of the minimalistic yet fully functional. I’d enjoy seeing an entire house including the garage and deck built in this fashion.
