Hindsight is 20/20 and mine reflects on how much I wish I had focused during high school woodshop. But thankfully somewhere along the way, designers like Alex Earl did, and continued to make everything but ordinary designs. His studio designs everything except run-of-the-mill lighting and furniture pieces for international architects, interior designers, and private clients.
At the moment, it would have to be the lighting collection that stands out, most notably the Lion Fish. At its largest size, this intriguing form of a deep sea creature looks like it could jump down and swallow you whole. Yet this pendant lamp, made of polypropylene, emits a luminescence that looks the least bit frightening. Orchids and butterflies also have been created into light sources as well as beautiful objects. Each available in a wide range of colors, and custom made in almost any size.
Earl also designs and manufactures a range of furniture in both plywood and solid timbers, and specializes in custom making of everything from commercial fit-outs, residential libraries, offices, kitchens, and freestanding furniture.
It is clear that Earl is not afraid to explore or take on new challenges, as the studio willingly takes on clients with new ideas, projects and collaborations. In-house manufacturing, using the latest model tekcel cnc router, has enabled them to rapidly prototype new designs and easily customize the full range, unique pieces, and suit specific requirements.
Showroom is open by appointment only.

Beautiful, I wish you had the pictures of the shadows made by the pendant lamp. It might be creepy, but I bet it looks beautiful too.
