Any true café aficionado will tell you – a good cup of coffee is, indeed an art. illy, a longstanding goliath of the gourmet coffee world, agrees absolutely. As a result they’ve been releasing coffee sets fit to delight any art hound. William Kentridge’s offering sets a high standard for artists down the pike. This South African born artist was commissioned by illy to produce a line commemorating their 75th anniversary. The set is absolutely anamorphic, something out of Alice In Wonderland. The surfaces of the cups and saucers are reflective, so placed next to each other, one gets the glorious sensation that this brief respite offered up by the hot coffee could in fact go on forever.
