If you’ll be in Portugal anytime soon, be sure to stop in at Madeira’s new Vine Hotel. Inspired by the renowned wine of the region, Madeira, many of the 5-star property’s very contemporary design motifs stem from the curves and swoops of grapevines, and architect Ricardo Bofill and interior designer Nini Adrade Silva focused on a four-color palette of grey, green, purple and brown to represent a grapevine in each of the four seasons. Wood taken from vineyards abounds in the interior. Adding an extra punch, the lighting design is thoughtful and innovative, sometimes even fun.
